SCOTT Spark RC World Cup Evo 2026: HMX Carbon at $15,000 — Darwin

HMX carbon, Flight Attendant, SRAM XX SL AXS, carbon-spoke wheels, Ceramic Speed bearings — the 2026 SCOTT Spark RC World Cup Evo at $15,000. Pre-order at Blue Cycles Darwin.

The 2026 SCOTT Spark RC World Cup Evo at $15,000 is where Scott's HMX carbon — the second-highest grade in the Spark RC range — meets their most sophisticated component spec outside of the flagship SL. Flight Attendant automatic suspension, SRAM XX SL Eagle AXS Transmission with an integrated power meter, Syncros Silverton CF1 carbon-spoke wheels, Ceramic Speed bearings throughout. This is the bike that professional World Cup teams race. It's available at Blue Cycles Darwin for $15,000 — roughly $3,500 less than Giant's equivalent Flight Attendant XC race bike.

HMX Carbon: The Second-Best Frame Scott Makes

The World Cup Evo is built on Scott's HMX carbon — one step below the HMX SL found only in the flagship SL model. HMX uses higher-modulus carbon fibres than the HMF found in the lower four models in the range, resulting in a frame that is lighter, stiffer, and more efficient at transmitting power. The Gen5 HMX frame includes Ceramic Speed bearings at every pivot — dramatically reducing friction compared to standard steel bearings — titanium hardware at key contact points, and full Syncros Octopus Gen2 integrated cable and hose routing. The head angle is adjustable via an eccentric headset insert, allowing you to fine-tune the geometry between a more aggressive race position and a more stable trail setup.

Flight Attendant + SRAM XX SL AXS

The suspension is RockShox SID Ultimate Flight Attendant fork and RockShox SIDLuxe Ultimate Flight Attendant rear shock — the top tier of RockShox's XC lineup, with the Race Day 3P damper managed automatically by Flight Attendant's accelerometer array. The drivetrain is SRAM XX SL Eagle AXS Transmission — SRAM's lightest and most refined wireless groupset — paired with a Spindle Power Meter crankarm for real-time watt data. The XX SL cassette runs 10-52T, and the entire wireless drivetrain operates with sub-100ms shift actuation regardless of load, cadence, or riding conditions.

Syncros Silverton CF1: Carbon-Spoke Wheels

The World Cup Evo ships on Syncros Silverton CF1 wheels — a step above the CF2 found on the lower models. The CF1 uses carbon spokes rather than standard alloy or bladed steel, reducing rotational weight and increasing lateral stiffness. In real-world terms, carbon-spoke wheels accelerate faster and corner more precisely — perceptible advantages on Darwin's tight singletrack and the technical race courses at DORC events. The 30mm internal rim width is tubeless-ready with an XD driver body for SRAM's XS-1299 cassette.

The Value Argument

The Giant Anthem Advanced SL 0 — with Flight Attendant, XX SL AXS, carbon wheels, and top-tier carbon frame — is $18,499. The Trek Supercaliber SLR 9.9 XX SL with comparable spec is in the $20,000–$22,000 range. The Spark RC World Cup Evo delivers the same essential package — Flight Attendant, XX SL AXS with power meter, carbon-spoke wheels, Ceramic Speed bearings — for $15,000. The frame grade (HMX vs HMX SL) is the only meaningful spec difference between the World Cup Evo and the $16,500 SL above it. For most riders, $15,000 is the ceiling of sensible XC bike investment, and the World Cup Evo is an extraordinary thing at that price.
