The Sunpeed Alpha 26" is the perfect bridge for kids who have outgrown 24" bikes but aren't ready for adult frames. A lightweight alloy MTB with hydraulic disc brakes and Shimano gears, it’s the high-quality, affordable ride the Top End needs.
Sunpeed Alpha 26" – The Perfect Kids Mountain Bike
The Sunpeed Alpha 26" is the solution Darwin parents have been waiting for. It’s the ultimate bridge for kids who have outgrown their 24" wheels but aren't quite ready for the reach and height of a full-sized adult frame. Featuring a lightweight 6061-T6 aluminium frame, hydraulic disc brakes for superior stopping power, and a lockable suspension fork, it’s built to handle everything from the school commute to the weekend trails.
The Bike Darwin Parents Asked For
We’ve heard it time and again: "My kid is too big for a 24-inch bike, but the adult small is still too clunky." The Sunpeed Alpha 26" is specifically designed to fill that gap. It offers the rolling efficiency of 26-inch wheels with a frame geometry tailored for younger riders, ensuring they stay confident, agile, and—most importantly—safe.
Trail-Ready Specs, Everyday Value
Unlike many "department store" bikes, the Sunpeed Alpha features III PRO Hydraulic Disc Brakes, providing effortless braking power for smaller hands—a massive safety upgrade over traditional mechanical brakes. The lockable suspension fork allows riders to soak up the bumps on the dirt or stiffen the ride for speed on the pavement.
Smooth Shifting & Durable Build
Equipped with a Shimano 21-speed drivetrain, the Alpha gives your child the gear range needed to conquer Darwin’s humidity and any incline they encounter. The Kenda 26" x 1.95" tyres provide the perfect balance of grip for off-road adventures and low rolling resistance for family rides along the Nightcliff Foreshore.
