The Edge Explore 3 is Garmin's easy-to-use navigation computer for commuting, touring and e-bike riding. It has a 3" colour touchscreen, preloaded bike-specific maps and up to 16 hours of battery life (48 hours in battery saver mode).

If you ride a compatible e-bike, such as one with a Bosch smart system or Shimano E-Bike System, it connects wirelessly to show assist level, battery status and more, and can plan routes around your remaining range. It also pairs with Varia radar and lights.

1. Navigation and maps

• Turn-by-turn directions on preloaded bike-specific maps, with routing suited to road, gravel or mountain riding.
• Route options and previews: compare routes by time, bike type and ascent, and see distance, elevation, surface type, traffic and reported hazards before you go.
• Up Ahead: see how far away the cafés, water fountains or toilets you care about are.
• Free Flow Routing: find routes with fewer stops and intersections.
• Pin drop navigation: send a pin from Google Maps or Apple Maps to the Edge.
• Course syncing from Garmin Connect, Strava, komoot or Ride with GPS, plus an on-device course creator and Back to Start.
• ClimbPro: remaining ascent and grade on every climb.

2. E-bike and Varia compatibility

• View e-bike data such as assist level and battery status on compatible Bosch smart system and Shimano E-Bike Systems.
• eBike smart range routing and range alerts based on battery status, assist level and your planned course.
• Pairs with Varia rearview radar, Varia radar camera and Varia lights.
